Chabad's Shluchim had placed the Torah's on the second floor of the Chabad House, before the storm. As conditions in the city deteriorated, a decision was taken to remove the Torahs to safer grounds. Chabad's rescue team removed the Torahs and brought them to Houston, where they were greeted enthusiastically.
