What is the purpose of the Alter Rebbe adding....
What is the purpose of the Alter Rebbe adding at the end of today's Tanya that, "only one who had deriverd no enjoyment from this world; all his life, as was the case with our Saintly Master [Rabbi Yehudah the Prince is spared this]"? That sounds very depressing.
Even if a person has done teshuva then they still get punished. Even more so, how does it help me to know that there is no way to fix what I have already done. I would rather be ignorant of the fact. So how do I view this point in the light of simcha and why did the Alter Rebbe make this addition when he wrote the Tanya?
